How Does Invisalign Work?

When you’re aligners arrive, you’ll b provided with the series in order. About every two weeks, you’ll switch with the next aligner in the series.  You can remove your aligners to eat and drink as well as to brush and floss, but other than that, you’ll want to wear your aligners all the time. As you replace each tray with the next in the series, your teeth will move little by little until they reach the desired position.

What Happens Once I Finish All of My Aligners?

Once you finish your full course of aligners and your teeth are in the desired position, we will make you a retainer that will be worn overnight to ensure your teeth don’t relapse. It is very important that this retainer be worn as it is the only way to protect your investment.

In some cases, we may be able to install a permanent retainer (hidden out of sight, of course) so your teeth don’t get a chance to move. Please feel free to ask about this if you are interested.

It is also important for you to come in for your routine exam and cleanings so we can catch if your teeth start to shift again.
